Hello!

I write stories with a touch of fantasy, from dark to light: from horror to thriller to fun and light-hearted. If you like that kind of thing, then check out my books.

I grew up in Washington state. Some highlights: In ninth grade, I won first prize ($15!) for a poem I wrote about a watermelon and I was also Math Girl of the year. I still have the poem and the award pin. I went to college at the University of Washington. Highlights: As a junior, I was inducted into phi beta kappa and I went to Venice with the english department. I have a degree in philosophy and a law degree.

I love to travel, and while I was doing the school thing, I backpacked through Europe and Egypt for six months and later spent some time living in Washington DC, London, and Rome. I love the inspiration and story fodder I get while traveling. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest. It’s green here. I like it.

When not writing, I like to read. (Bet you didn’t see that one coming. =D) I like novels that blend fantasy and reality, and I like nonfiction about odd things, meta things, the world’s mysteries. When not reading, you can probably find me batch cooking, exploring places on foot, and doting on pugs—heavy on the pugs. I can usually be spotted in the afternoons, walking the neighborhood with my pug, Winnie. I love it when I spot one of nature’s hearts or a hummingbird.
