Daphne James’s boyfriend is supposed to propose tonight. Instead he tells her he’d marry a girl like the vaudeville starlet they see on a theater poster. Daphne’s never heard of the woman, so she checks out her show.
But as soon as she enters the misty, peach-scented L’Aornum Theatre and glimpses the flawless Fausten Cotter, Daphne’s insecurities multiply—but so do the mysteries surrounding the starlet. Daphne’s warned to stay away, but she can’t. So when the starlet’s theater announces an amateur vaudeville competition, Daphne enters to impress her boyfriend—but also to discover the secret to the starlet’s success.
Unfortunately, the starlet has more secrets than Daphne can fathom. She’s an incorrupt corpse. She takes her own interest in Daphne. And Daphne won’t like what the starlet has planned.
CAUTION: Do not read this book if you’re not ready to fully give in to a monster type you’ve never seen before. Tropes will be subverted, corpses will rot, and hearts will be broken. It’s a love-horror story, after all. You have been warned. 😈
