Hey, there! Homemade Time Machine is live! It’s a short horror story about a guy who’s been tinkering in his garage who finally shows his wife what he’s been working on. You can check it out over on my substack. I hope you enjoy!
The Girl, Incorrupted Paperback is LIVE!
If you prefer paperbacks to hardcovers and ebooks, then I have good news. The GIRL, INCORRUPTED paperback is available now!
Here’s the cover:

Here’s the back cover copy:
I would have done anything for Andy. But the night I vandalized the starlet’s poster, I began wondering how to make Andy do anything for me…
Daphne James’s boyfriend is supposed to propose tonight. Instead he tells her he’d marry a girl like the vaudeville starlet they see on a theater poster. Daphne’s never heard of the woman, so she checks out her show.
But as soon as she enters the misty, peach-scented L’Aornum Theatre and glimpses the flawless Fausten Cotter, Daphne’s insecurities multiply—but so do the mysteries surrounding the starlet. Daphne’s warned to stay away, but she can’t. So when the starlet’s theater announces an amateur vaudeville competition, Daphne enters to impress her boyfriend—but also to discover the secret of the starlet’s appeal.
Unfortunately, the starlet has more secrets than Daphne can fathom:
She’s an incorrupt corpse.
She takes her own interest in Daphne.
And Daphne won’t like what the starlet has planned.
CAUTION: Do not read this book if you’re not ready to fully give in to a monster type you’ve never seen before. Tropes will be subverted, corpses will rot, and hearts will be broken. It’s a love-horror story, after all. You have been warned. 😈
I hope you check out the book and enjoy!

If you’re subscribed to the newsletter, check your email. The story came out yesterday morning.
If you’re not subscribed to the newsletter, what are you wait for?!
You’ll find The Ring plus many other goodies in your welcome email!

New Horror Short Story Drops Tomorrow!
The next issue of Megan Bledsoe’s Reader List (man, my newsletter needs a better name 🤪) comes out tomorrow with a silly but fun horror short story inspired by the Midas Touch. The one about the guy who turned everything he touched into gold. Course that’s not where I go with it. 😈 Plus I paired it with zombies. You should check it out. Tomorrow, like I said. Over at my newsletter. Oh, but it’s just for subscribers, so get yourself subscribed!

You know you’ve arrived when…
You spot your book at the library! Check this out!

It’s got the mylar cover and library stickers and it’s even already got some grime on it!
And I’m pretty sure—from the look of the top and bottom of the interior when it’s closed—that someone has definitely read every page of this copy! How cool is that!?!
So, so cool!
Have you seen it at your library? I would love to know. If you see it around, send me a pic or post it and tag me.
If you don’t see Girl, Incorrupted on your library’s New Books shelf, ask them to order it! Libraries are very accomodating. They’ll usually place a hold for you, too, so that when it arrives you’ll be able to take it home and give it a read! Win, win, win!

One week left to read the first 90+ pages of Girl, Incorrupted before it releases on September 12, 2023!
The title of this post pretty much says it all. Girl, Incorrupted comes out in one week! Yay! I’m so excited for you to read it!
But did you know that you can start reading it RIGHT NOW?
You can. The first 90+ pages are up on my substack. They’ll be there until release day when I will have to take them down. (If you want to know why, go check out the pages.)
But until then, you can read, read, read the first quarter of the book. Plenty of pages to decide if you want to keep going (if you know what I mean).
See you there!

Hurray for Libraries! Request Girl, Incorrupted from Your Library!
So Sad…
So I was just gearing up to start promoting Girl, Incorrupted to libraries when I read that there are a million books published every year.
A million.
Every year.
So for a moment there, I felt a little overwhelmed, a little already defeated.
But then!
I remembered that Every. Single. Time. I ask my library to order me a book—THEY DO! Aren’t libraries the best? And so I thought…
Hello, Kind Reader,
Should you ever find yourself sitting around, wondering what to do with the next five minutes of your time, may I suggest that you ask your library to order Girl, Incorrupted!

How to help your favorite authors write more books
You can help an author write more books by doing two things:
- Help them increase their books’ visibility.
- Help persuade other readers to give their books a try.
How do these two things help a writer write more books?
Writers need time to write, but one—and often two—thing(s) eat into that time: promoting their books and working at their job that pays the bills.
By helping writers increase their books’ visibility and helping to encourage readers to give the writer’s books a try, you help the writer to both turn their writing into their job that pays the bills and help ease the burden of having to promote, all of which frees up more and more time for the writer to write more of the books you love.
So how can you help your favorite author write more books?
