I hope you’re having a good fall! The skies are still mostly blue here, and the rain is mostly happening at night. I love it like that, listening to the rain hit the roof. Good stuff.

It’s almost here!
The Metanaut comes out soon, on November 18th! I’m excited. Can’t wait. Super excited! I think you’re gonna like it.
What’s the Metanaut about?
Scientist Anja Copenhagen thinks that belief in the paranormal is absurd. Which makes her the last person who should be summoned to the California Redwoods to resolve a so-called paranormal anomaly.
They’re saying the anomaly is connected to strange events on a college campus and in maternity wards across the country—defying every law of nature Anja has ever known. But if true, it means the danger it poses is spreading.

What Else I’ve Been Up To
I changed my summer sheets to my warm and cozy flannel sheets. Is that newsletter worthy? Love me some flannel sheets in the winter, and especially in the fall when I can still leave my window open a bit.
I’ve also been watching Professor Jiang on YouTube. He’s fascinating. Have you seen this guy? He grew up in Canada, went to Yale, and teaches high school kids in China. He posts his class lectures to YouTube. Fascinating stuff. I’m working through last year’s lectures right now, while watching the current year’s lectures as soon as they come out. Great for filling the well.
What I’ve Been Reading
I guess I was on a classics kick this month. Everything I read was at least thirty years old. =)
Cape Fear / The Executioners by John D MacDonald. The beginning of this really pulled me in. Visually, emotionally. Really good stuff. I don’t remember if I’ve seen this movie, but I have a feeling the ending in the book is not the same as the ending in the movie.
Deal Breaker by Harlan Coben. This is an early Harlan Coben book, and the first one featuring Myron Bolitar. I listened to it, and it was good. It had HC’s usual twists and turns and his pithy humorous one-liners. Love it when a line makes me snort out loud.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K Dick. The inspiration for the movie Blade Runner. The book is very different from the movie. Not quite as action-packed, but also better in its own way.

Winnie Pug Update
Winnie’s a sun pug. We moved the Sac from downstairs to upstairs a while back, and when the window’s open—or even when it’s not—it’s her new favorite spot. Even better than her desk bed. She barks a lot, so really it’s everyone’s favorite new spot for her. But here she is looking innocent… and a little annoyed that the SO is taking her picture.
When the sun moves, so does she. =)
