Corbin 2 is almost here!

Coming up on the end of the year. I feel like my year is ramping up here at the end, rather than slowing down for the holidays. But I like it!
Cover Reveal!
Corbin Book 2 is coming out soon!
I have two beta readers, and their reading tastes are very different. One of them thinks The Metanaut is my best book by far and that Corbin’s just okay; and the other loves Corbin Kohl Adrift In Hell and didn’t really like The Metanaut. 🤪 Good thing I’ve been at this so long my ego around it all has pretty much been ground out of me. 😊
Anyway, point being: If your favorite book of mine is the Corbin book, then you’re in luck. The beta who loved the first one said the second one is even better.
Love it when that happens.
And this was quite the relief to hear, because, as I think maybe I’ve told you, I start the Corbin books by opening a book to a random page and writing the first sentence about the first concrete detail I come to. For this book, I opened some book on metaphysical stuff, heaven- and hell-related stuff—or so I’d thought—and the first detail I came to was… well… it threw me. It wasn’t the kind of detail I could just mention in passing and then get on with the story; it was the kind of detail that, if mentioned, would take over the story. So I think you’ll know exactly which detail I’m talking about when you see the first line. And the blurb. And the cover.
But, apparently it all worked out. At least, according to my second beta.
Anyway, Book 2 is called Corbin Kohl Baited In Hell.

If not, here’s another hint. Here’s the cover:
Yup, that concrete detail I randomly opened a page to and wrote the first line about was UFO. A UFO in Hell. Hey, weirder things could happen! And all in all, I think it worked out pretty well. And it was definitely fun to write.
Corbin 2 will be out in January. January 6, probably, but I’m still working out the details. As usual, I’ll send out a Timely Announcement ASAP email when it’s live everywhere, so look out for that! Yay!

What I’m Working On Now
A couple days ago, I finished a book that’ll be coming out in mid February, I think, and I am SO, SO excited about it. I can’t wait to share it with you. I’ll probably reveal it in the January newsletter, because I just won’t be able to wait any longer. So excited.
I’m also finishing up Corbin 3. But that’s all I’ve got to say about that one for now. 😬 Mums the word until it’s done!
What I’ve Been Reading
I read—or listened to—my first Mick Herron book this month. Slow Horses. There’s a show on Apple TV based on the series, but I haven’t seen it. Anyway, it’s set in London, and it’s about these misfit MI5 (?) agents who have screwed up at their jobs, and so they’re put out to pasture in Slough House. But then terrorists kidnap a kid, and the slow horses save the day. It was good. I’ve got a hold on the next book in the series.

Winnie Pug Update
The furniture was kind of left in a haphazard state while I was setting up Christmas decorations this week.2 I’d gotten distracted—got a story idea, I think—and had gone upstairs to write it down. Chad was sitting next to me in the office, and we suddenly realized that Winnie wasn’t around. Winnie’s always around.
Where’s Winnie?
So we get up to look, and we find her on the haphazardly placed couch, where this pillow is sitting perfectly in the only little bit of sunlight coming into the room.
Usually she moves before I can take her picture, and she did wiggle, but she wasn’t moving from this spot for anything.
