I am deep into a project (yay!) and writing this newsletter at the last minute, and it’s way past my bedtime, so let’s just get to it!

What I’m Working On Now
A trilogy!
The first book is done for the most part, and I’m working on the second one. That’s all I’m going to say about it for now, content-wise. But look for news about the first book in the May newsletter!
The first book should be up for preorder by May, but the publication date won’t be until… probably October? Probably October, and then the plan is to have the next two books follow on the heels of the one before, about a month later.
That’s the plan, anyway. More next month!
What Else I’ve Been Up To
Nothing! Still doing my challenge, and this trilogy is flowing and yet crazily taking up my time at the same time. If that makes sense. It’s flowing… but it’s also got me in my chair, fingers on the keyboard nonstop. So yeah. I’ve been up to nothing. Grocery shopping is the non-writing highlight of my week. Every week. =) Hopefully that’ll change in September when my challenge is done! 2.5 books and 5 months to go!
What I’ve Been Reading
Or listening to, as the case may be…
1984 by George Orwell – Can’t say I remember what part 2 is about… by which I mean the end, if there’s more than two parts. I completely spaced out while the narrator drolled on. And then I got to the end and I realized why: the main character was on his way to loving Big Brother. Boo.
Razor Girl by Carl Hiaasen – Hiaasen is line-by-line funny, and his narrator completely gets it. I don’t always follow the plots when I’m listening (apparently I don’t listen very well; I get sidetracked a lot), but the line-by-line is so good it doesn’t matter.
Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry – This is the first book in a series of many books. I picked up the thirteenth book a while back, and it was good, so I started at the beginning. So this was like an origin story, which is always fun. There’s zombies.

Winnie Pug Update
Winnie has a friend at the school we pass by on our walk. Her friend gives her treats, and Winnie sits and waits for her friend if her friend isn’t already waiting for Winnie. It’s probably the only time Winnie sits on command.
That’s her old-new red leash. Her harness-matching leash broke—while there were buses at the school. Yeah. It was as fun as it sounds. Fortunately, Winnie doesn’t like it when there’s no tension on her leash, so when it broke off she kept nosing me to pick it back up again. So I got ahold of her quicker than usual. She’s fast and loves to be chased.
