Celebrate with me!

Hello!

It’s out! It’s out! Can you believe it!?! I have dreamed of this day for such a very long time and it is finally here!

And you’re here, too, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about that. Thank you so much for being a part of what I’ve been calling the core of the snowball. I am so grateful that you are here, reading this, celebrating with me, hopefully giving Girl, Inc. a perusal, maybe even a full-on read. Thank you so much. It means everything to me.

Have a glass of your favorite wine, water, whatever, and hold it up for me. I have a book out! And it only took me hebedah-teen years! And I’m proud of it! Inside and out, it’s everything I always hoped it might be.

A Selfie/Pet Selfie/Shelfie!

When you get said copy (ebook is good enough!), take some book pics and tag me when you post one so I’m sure to see it! Throw in a party hat, confetti, streamers, cake, or anything else you’ve got lying about. Bonus if you’ve got anything pink and mint green. (If you’ve been reading the book, you know what I’m talking about!)

A Craft or Two!

Make some mini books! It’s fun. And it’s actually easy to do if you’ve got some old magazines lying about and you follow this video. (Plus, mini books look super cute on the ‘gram.)

The Secret Page!

Have I ever mentioned that I made a webpage just for GI readers. I’m pretty sure I mentioned it in the welcome email but probably not since. Well regardless, I made a page of fun stuff just for readers. I’ve been tinkering with the page for a while now, and I’ll probably continue to do so, but it’s finally up on the website! Yay!

Two things though:

The only way to navigate to the page is through this newsletter.
The page is password protected. The password is in the back of the book.

But you got a copy of the book, so all good, right? 😉 So by being here, reading this, and possessing a copy of the book, you’re almost there! Now just read the book, look out for the password, and then check out the page:

Back to mini books: Among other things on the secret page, I put up a pdf of a mini Girl, Incorrupted book cover. If you’re feeling particularly festive and crafty, make some mini books! Or peruse some of the other things on the page!

An Adventure!

The main event of the day, at least for me, is to head out to downtown Portland, Oregon, where Girl, Incorrupted is set, and visit all the places in the book. (Credit to the SO for coming up with this idea!)

Where exactly will we go?

The college square in the opening scene… the MAX train… the South Park Blocks… the corner of Park and Columbia where the theater is set (it was a parking lot last I checked, something like 5, 6, 7 years ago)… the dark corridor mentioned in the middle of the book (we’ll see if I can get in)… Goose Hollow where Andy lives…

And Powell’s. Definitely Powell’s.

I should probably make a list.

Anyway: Places. Lots of them. In downtown Portland. I hope it’s a beautiful day. I’m typing this days before Tuesday and it will go out first thing Tuesday morning, so the weather will be a surprise. Wish me fun!
